Meeks Park Woods is an attractive woodland extending to 84.7 acres (34.3 ha) set in a very accessible location in Central Scotland comprising valuable maturing timber and also offering tremendous amenity.
Aberdona and Meeks Park Woods are two separate blocks of attractive maturing woodlands which are located approximately 1 mile to the north of the small Clackmannanshire village of Forestmill. The popular and attractive town of Dollar is only 2 miles to the north. The area is highly accessible and the woods are close to a number of important timber markets; both the M9 and M90 motorways are within a 15 minute drive.

Lot 2 - Meeks Park Wood 84.7 acres (34.3 ha)

A forest track leading off the minor public road that runs between the two woods provides good access directly into Meeks Park Wood. The northern section of the wood is known as Cow Wood. The end of this internal forest road is met by a private track and there is a right to cross to the southern block, known as Meeks Park. The woodland was planted in 1960, principally with Scots Pine, with a strong presence of Western Hemlock and minor species, including Japanese Larch, European Larch and Birch. The woodland has been thinned in places and there is now a large volume of Western Hemlock which is mature and ready for clear felling. There are Roe Deer in the area and the nature of the woodland provides a wonderful habitat for them. The opportunity for a limited amount of rough shooting is also possible. There is a low voltage electric overhead power line traversing the southern section of Meeks Park Wood and a national transmission pylon line runs parallel and close to the north boundary.

Access:

Meeks Park Wood has a large bellmouth with gated access leading to an internal forest track. It should be noted that Meeks Park Wood does not benefit from any access via Meeks Park farm road. There are, however, rights within the Title to cross over this farm road that runs between Meeks Park and Cairnmuir.
