RORY BALLANTYNE BSC (HONS) FRICS FARLA

Managing Director

Rory Ballantyne qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2006 and is a Graduate of Northumbria University, Newcastle. Rory has over 20 years experience in the Scottish residential market place – spending much of that time with working with a leading global real estate adviser in their Land and Development Team as well as working with one of Scotland’s leading housebuilders. Rory enjoys spending time with his family and a number of outdoor activities including Shooting, Fishing and playing rugby for Broughton Rugby Club in Edinburgh.

 

 

GORDON MCKENZIE

Director of New Homes

Gordon McKenzie has over 20 years experience in New Homes Sales and Marketing having worked both for developers and agents. He is tasked with promoting new build developments, gaining new build instructions, providing valuable client advise, market research and pricing for new build developments. Gordon has worked throughout Scotland on significant large scale residential and mixed use projects as both advisor and client. In his spare time Gordon enjoys spending time with his daughters and fiancée and keeping fit in the gym, walking and mountain biking.

 

 

TRACY SMITH

Senior Financial Controller & Office Manager Edinburgh Office

Tracy worked in retail for over 15 years before starting work at Ream, she does the accounts and is responsible for ensuring rents are received on time and for paying landlords and contractors and all other HMRC requirements. In her spare time Tracy enjoys spending time with friends and family and looking after her brood of pets. She also enjoys reading a good book.

 

 

SCOTT WEBSTER

Head of Estate Agency

Scott Webster has over 15 years of experience in property having started with the local SPC then leading onto positions with both solicitor based estate agents and traditional estate agencies, giving Scott a well-rounded understanding of property sales from start to finish. As the Head of Estate Agency, Scott provides clients with a fully managed service bringing properties to the market and managing until the keys exchange. Scott offers national coverage with a more locally based service. Along with a strong team behind him, the aim is to offer each property a tailored marketing package to suit. In his spare time, Scott enjoys football and exploring Scotland with his wife and two dogs.

 

 

KELLY GIBSON CIHM

Senior Property Manager Edinburgh Office

Kelly has over 18 years experience working in the property sector from interiors to trade supplies and property management. She is responsible for the day to day running of client’s properties, providing valuable client advice and making sure both landlord and tenant are satisfied. Her background working for large retail companies and running her own business in the past has provided Kelly with the customer focus the property industry requires. When not working Kelly loves to socialise with friends and family or relax in the coolness of a swimming pool.

 

 

CAROLE CAMERON

Senior Office Administrator & Estate Agency Assistant – Perth Office

Carole joined the Perth Office in October 2011 where she is responsible for the Company’s Accounting and Book-keeping. She also assists with property and general enquiries and is closely involved with all property sales carried out from the Perth Office. Carole has always lived and worked in and around Perth. In her spare time Carole enjoys walking in the Perthshire countryside, spending time with friends and family and camping.

 

 

EMMA HENRY

Property Manager Edinburgh Office

Emma joined Ballantynes in February 2018 after gaining 10 years’ experience in the architectural sector. Having originally joined as the Receptionist/Office Administrator for the Edinburgh office, Emma swiftly progressed to the role of Property Manager after finding a real passion for rentals. In her spare time Emma enjoys taking care of her daughter, with her husband. They very much enjoy travelling to new places and spending time with the wider family and pet cat. Emma is a fan of country music, books and movies.

 

 

ELAINE DURIE

Maintenance Coordinator

Elaine joined the Ballantynes team in May 2021 as Maintenance Co-ordinator to manage this very busy department in support of the lettings portfolio making sure that all properties are managed and maintained to a high standard, for our landlords and tenants. Elaine started out in property back in 2016 having previously operated within the financial sector for many years prior. Some would say that finance and property work hand in hand so it was a understandable transition and her experience is second to none. In her spare time, Elaine has a passion for travelling, good restaurants and spending lots of time with her children Alan and Lauren and her grandson Matthew.

 

 

MC GALLETTA

New Business & Property Manager

MC joined the Ballantynes team with 8+ years’ worth of experience managing large portfolios of properties & clients along with bringing in new business to the company. Having someone of MC’s experience and with her drive has been a fantastic addition to the rental department. Extremely passionate about property and ultimately helping the business thrive, MC holds high standards on how property should be presented and managed while having a natural desire to be achieving best possible outcomes for landlords, tenants and indeed the business itself. Aside from property, MC loves spending time with her partner and their dog, Dod.

 

 

KRYSTAL FINAN

Accounts & Sales Administration Assistant

Having joined the team in 2021, starting out as Front of House, Krystal’s role has progressed to encompass supporting the Accounts and Sales departments of the business. Whether dealing with enquiries, booking in appointments, processing accounts or drafting up reports, Krystal is integral to the business. Krystal’s passion for property began while studying at University, where she went on to focus her Honours project on political issues surrounding property. With knowledge of the wider context surrounding property, Krystal is always considerate in striving to provide a high level of care, service and enthusiasm for Ballantynes, part of the reason that clients are delighted with the company.

 

In her spare time, Krystal enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, reading, singing and exploring the capital.

 

 

SONNY DAVIS

Property Manager

Sonny’s professional career initially started in the financial sector, he then made the move to Lettings in 2017. His roles and experience in lettings range from and include working as a property negotiator, new tenancy advisor, letting assistant and also assisted with short term rentals before joining Ballantynes in March of 2022 as a property manager. In his free time he enjoys watching football, basketball and F1. He also enjoys going out with friends at the weekend and travelling overseas for some sun.

 

 

LYNN BOYCE

Maintenance Coordinator

Lynn joined Ballantynes early in 2022, having started her career in property management over 10 years ago covering various roles, gaining experience and qualifications within the roles that she had encompassed at the time. For the last 5-years, Lynn has really homed in on the compliance side of the business and joining Ballantynes, brings her knowledge and expertise both from her superb understanding of the legal compliance for rental properties along with general maintenance experience. Along side Elaine Durie, Lynn completes our maintenance division.

 

Outside of office life, Lynn enjoys travelling, reading, watching films, and walking her two dogs (Luna and Star).
