Its main industry is tourism, fishing and farming. Recreationally there is a harbour, golf course and the Fife coastal path for walking and running as well as excellent B roads for cycling and tracks for mountain biking. Education is provided by the local primary school and Waid Academy which is one of the top-performing secondary schools in Fife, making this one of the most desirable places to live.

The site currently forms part of the grounds of the Anstruther Medical Centre. The land has been deemed surplus to requirements and is now being made available for sale. The site is accessed from the medical centre car park via a shared access. The site includes pro indiviso ownership of the path that crosses the site together with an area out with the red line boundary. Further details are available from the sales agent. A variation of the common rights and reservations will require to be entered into once the proposed development proposals are known. The site is identified as white land within the Fife Local Plan and sits within the existing settlement boundary.

No representations have been made to Fife Council and all parties are expected to make their own enquiries.

Clawback provision will be placed across the land for future development and all parties are requested to include their proposals for this provision within an offer.

Access to the site will be provided through the existing medical centre car park.
