*Tremendous potential for use as a Bed & Breakfast property*
A fully modernised historic loch-side house situated in the Great Glen with wonderful views across Loch Lochy. Substantially rebuilt in 2003 with considerable style and character, this historic ‘King’s House’ dates from the early 18th Century when it was built alongside ‘Wade’s Road’ between Fort William and Inverness.
Being originally 2 buildings, the accommodation is ideally laid out to allow an owner to live and occupy one part of the house and to operate the other part as a bed & breakfast operation. The accommodation includes 4 bedrooms and extends over two storeys and the house enjoys truly superb views over Loch Lochy towards the South Laggan Forest and the mountains of Meal Dubh and Sean Mheall. The main rooms enjoy an easterly and westerly aspect. The house has a gross floor area of about 233 sq. metres (2,500 sq.ft).
The Old Inn, Letterfinlay is situated beside the A82 trunk road on the east shore of Loch Lochy, in Lochaber, Inverness-shire approximately 7 miles north of Spean Bridge and 16 miles from Fort William. Loch Lochy is one of the 3 lochs forming part of the Caledonian Canal, linking the west and east coasts of Scotland between Fort William and Inverness. The A82 trunk road runs through the Great Glen and is one of the prime tourist routes in Scotland connecting Fort William with Inverness which is about 48 miles away to the north east. The location provides opportunities for access to an abundance of outdoor activities.
There is a direct train service from Spean Bridge to Glasgow as well as a daily sleeper train to London. There are popular Ski Centres at Aonach Mor, 12 miles away, and Aviemore 60 miles away. Mountain Biking facilities are also available at Aonach Mor and at Wolftrax at Laggan about 35 miles away. Deer Stalking, Salmon Fishing and Grouse and Pheasant Shooting are all available for let on local sporting estates.
Loch Lochy is included in the Great Glen Ways Initiative which is a project supported by Highland Council, the Forestry Commission and Scottish Canals to promote the use of the Caledonian Canal, the Great Glen Mountain Bike Trails and the Great Glen Way Long Distance Route.
As a consequence, the Old Inn, Letterfinlay is located in an area which provides a wonderful variety and range of outdoor leisure and recreational activities.
